What are we about?
At Orchard Baptist Church, it is a priority that young people are welcomed, encouraged and nurtured as an important part of our church. We want them to be able to understand more about Jesus, the focal point of the Christian faith, and how this impacts their day to day lives. Here is our vision; a summary of our hope of what young people experience at OBC.
‘Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.’ Colossians 2:6-7
Aimed at school years 7 – 9 during our Sunday church service, it gives the opportunity for small group Bible study and discussion relevant to teenagers. The young people will occasionally take part in the main service as a group and often serve as individuals in different aspects of the service like the band and welcome team if they would like to.
Pathway – Boys’ Group
Aimed at boys in school years 7 - 11, Pathway aims to dig deeper into what it means to live as a Christian boy through Bible study, discussion, games and prayer. The group is hosted at different homes on a rota basis.
Pathway – Girls’ Group
Aimed at girls in school years 7 - 11, Pathway aims to dig deeper into what it means to live as a Christian girl through Bible study, discussion, games and prayer.
Sport, craft, food, games, chill out – loads of fun with the chance to hear what the Christian faith is about, how it makes sense of the world and life. The group is aimed at school years 9 – 13 at the Salvation Army Hall, Hart Place. There will be themed, one off outreach events throughout the year to work alongside this weekly group.
Food and Faith
Food & Faith gives students at The Cooper School, Bicester, the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and what it means to live as a Christian. We have snacks together and time to discuss a topic or listen to a talk about the Christian faith and its relevance to teenage life.
Lots going on!
There is lots of other activity going on like youth events with young people from across Bicester, conferences, events and trips. For more information on anything to do with youth at OBC, please contact our youth worker Helen Nicholson: firstname.lastname@example.org.
